OUR STORY
Freedom House began in 1982 as Lovell Heights Church of God, when a small group of people started meeting in a log cabin. Their vision was simple yet powerful: to make Jesus known in the West Knoxville community, which at the time was made up largely of farmland and residential homes. In 1987, the church moved to its current location on Lovell Road and constructed the first part of its present facility. As the congregation grew, the building was expanded to include a larger sanctuary, additional classrooms, and dedicated spaces for children’s and student ministries. In 2009, the church was relaunched as Freedom House to renew and sharpen its vision and mission for the future.
OUR VISION
To be a place where people are ministered to, whether their need is spiritual, physical, social or emotional.
OUR PURPOSE
To be a body of believers effectively fulfilling the Inward, Outward, and Upward call of ministry: through discipleship training and fellowship, through serving and evangelism, and through biblical worship.
OUR GOAL
To train and equip every member in the use of their Priestly gifts, through the framework of the body to allow for the fulfillment of our purpose.
